Why Do You Weep Woman?
You weep in the nighttime when no-one can hear you
Muffled by your pillow the tears flow free
Why do you weep old woman?
You weep in the daytime when you are alone
The salty drops fall from your eyes unseen
Why do you weep old woman?
You weep when a new baby enters the world
The little one is washed in your tears
Why do you weep old woman?
You weep when an old soul departs to his home in
the sky
His face is caressed by the drops as they fall
Why do you weep old woman?
You weep for the ones who have lost their way
Fallen by the wayside in life’s journey
Why do you weep old woman?
You weep for the old ways lost in technology
The days of the wise ones are long past
Why do you weep old woman?
Weep for sorrow, for pain and for grief
You have many a tear to cry for so much has been lost
So weep on old woman

As I grow old, my thoughts do wonder!
An indepth view of a poem that makes me think out
aloud " Would such tears spill from these eyes of
mine so readily" and I know the answer is yes. The
memories of the past and those so dear to me, no
longer here, to reminise of my spent youth wasted
by mistakes never learnt. Your poem has awaken
these thoughts and I continue to wonder, what lays
ahead for me in my old age..........
